Mt. Adams Bronze Antique Engravable Mount Adams' snow-capped dome stands at 12,276 feet, making it the third largest peak in the Cascades and the second highest peak in Washington State. Mount Adams dominates the western horizon from high points around the city of Yakima, where it was worshiped by the Native Americans there, and for whom the city is named. Located east of the Cascade Crest in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, it is more remote than some of the other volcanos in the Cascade Range, but is still accessible on back roads, attracting thousands of visitors to its slopes each year. While Mt. Adams contains some technically difficult routes on its northern and eastern flanks, its south slope route tends to be a long and snowy, but non-technical ascent. This distinctive coin honors Mt. Adams, and is dedicated to those with a soft spot for this mountain, or who have ventured upon its slopes. The obverse contains a detailed rendering of Mount Adams and includes its elevation. The reverse depicts a pair of classic ice axes with an open area suitable for engraving a personalized message. Minted in a proprietary brass alloy, this coin is given a bronze antique finish. Ito comes packaged in a polybag with a detailed header card. Engraving is easy and inexpensive.
