Mount Adams' snow-capped dome stands at 12,276 feet, making it the third largest peak in the Cascades and the second highest peak in Washington State.
Located east of the Cascade Crest in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, it is more remote than some of the other peaks in the Cascade Range, but is still highly accessible, attracting thousands of visitors to its slopes each year. While Mt. Adams contains some technically difficult routes on its northern and eastern flanks, its south slope route is more easily managed.
This distinctive coin commemorates the achievement of those who have crested Mount Adams' summit. The obverse contains a detailed rendering of Mount Adams and includes its elevation. The reverse depicts a climber steadily advancing up the mountain's steep slope.
Minted in MerlinGold,® a proprietary brass alloy that simulates the look and feel of gold, this coin is finished in antique bronze. Each coin comes packaged with a certificate of authenticity that describes Mount Adams in full detail.
