Mt. Olympus Mountain Climber Gold Select

Standing at 7,969 feet, Mount Olympus is the most prominent peak in Washington State's majestic Olympic Range.

Located in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this sizable mountain is comprised of three peaks that rise above the vast scenic beauty of Olympic National Park. Mount Olympus contains eight low-elevation glaceirs that extend down from its summit as well as several icefields above 5,000 feet. Although ascents are often made difficult by low visibility and other weather-related factors, climbers of all skill levels can still access the summit. The normal approach is via a trail along the Hoh River to the Glacier Meadows Composite.

This coin salutes the courage of all those climbers who have pushed up Mount Olympus' steep slopes.  The obverse features a rendering of Mount. Olympus and includes its elevation. The reverse depicts a mountain climber steadily ascending toward the summit.

Minted in one Troy ounce of .999 pure silver and selectively plated in 24-karat gold, this coin comes sealed in a tarnish resistant Lucite capsule and mounted in a museum-quality leatherette presentation box, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
