Standing at 7,969 feet, Mount Olympus is the most prominent peak in Washington State's majestic Olympic Range.

Located in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this sizable mountain is comprised of three peaks that rise above the vast scenic beauty of Olympic National Park. Mount Olympus contains eight low-elevation glaceirs that extend down from its summit as well as several icefields above 5,000 feet. Although ascents are often made difficult by low visibility and other weather-related factors, climbers of all skill levels can still access the summit. The normal approach is via a trail along the Hoh River to the Glacier Meadows Composite.

This impressive U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Benchmark replica salutes the courage of all those climbers who have pushed up Mount Olympus' steep slopes. The obverse contains the same design and detail of the official USGS Benchmark found atop Mount Olympus. The reverse contains a space for engraving.

Minted in MerlinGold,® a proprietary brass alloy that simulates the look and feel of gold, this three-inch medallion contains an antique bronze finish. Each benchmark medallion comes in its own drawstring velour pouch accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
