This distinctive medallion is a tribute to those hikers and climbers who have mastered Mount Whitney's tough terrain. The obverse replicates the design and detail of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Bench Mark that is located on Mount Whitney's chiseled peak. The reverse contains a space for engraving.
