The U.S. Special Mint Sets were struck at the U.S. Assay Office at San Francisco. These sets are made from specially prepared and polished planchets (coin blanks) and struck on high tonnage presses with polished dies.

The 1967 U.S. Special Mint Set comes encased in a plastic display case packaged and sealed by the U.S. Mint, then packaged in a cardboard sleeve. The set includes the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter and Kennedy half dollar.
