Despite its enormous size, the Black Bear can reach running speeds of up to thirty miles per hour as it bounds through the forest in pursuit of prey. A superb swimmer, it feeds frequently on fish from raging mountain rivers and streams, using its spear-like claws and razor sharp teeth to capture its prey.
