The U.S. Navy's Firemen are charged with maintaining and repairing vital electrical and propulsion systems.

Utilizing highly advanced diagnostic tools, they monitor the performance of the ship's power plant and electrical equipment, including its engines, generators, lighting circuits and distribution switchboards, ensuring that each of these systems meets the highest operational readiness standards. Dedicated to enhancing the ship's safety and stability, Firemen also demonstrate advanced proficiency in emergency management and damage control.  

This coin is dedicated to the commitment and courage of all Navy Firemen, who help to maximize the performance of the U.S. Navy fleet.

Boldly enameled on the obverse is a rendering of the rating badge worn by the Navy's Firemen. The reverse contains the eagle emblem of the U.S. Navy and contains a space for engraving.

Minted in a nickel alloy, this coin contains an antique finish. Each piece comes packaged with a header card that describes the unique contributions made by those who serve the U.S. Navy as Firemen.
