The Green Berets, first established as an agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War 2, have served with distinction in every major American conflict over the past five decades. An extremely versatile force, the Green Berets are capable of executing a complete range of deep cover operations, including direct action, counter-terrorism, special reconnaissance, and search and recovery campaigns. This coin honors the Special Forces' unique contribution to the success of America's military operations throughout the world and salutes the courage of those soldiers skilled enough to wear the Green Beret. The obverse replicates the crossed arrow design of the Special Forces' Branch Insignia. The reverse contains the official seal of the U.S. Army.

Minted in brass alloy and finished in bronze, this coin contains rich enamel accents on both sides. Each coin comes packaged with a detailed header card that describes the mission and history of the U.S. Army.
