In response to the savage acts of violence perpetrated against innocent American civilians on September 11, 2001, the United States declared a global war on terrorism. Initiating Operation Enduring Freedom on October 7, 2001, the U.S. Military led a blistering assault against the renegade Taliban regime in Afghanistan, ousting the Taliban leadership from power and striking at the heart of the infamous al Qaeda terrorist network. This four-coaster set pays tribute to the overwhelming success of Operation Enduring Freedom and salutes the efforts of America's military to combat terrorism wherever it exists. Framed by a bright green top pad, the die-struck coin displayed inside each coaster features an American Bald Eagle set against the backdrop of the American flag beneath the slogan "Let's Roll." This set includes four solid brass coin coasters and a hand-finished, walnut base, packaged together in an attractive flip-top gift box. Official Licensed Product of the U.S. Army. By federal law, licensing fees paid to the U.S. Army for use of its trademarks provide support to the Army Trademark Licensing Program, and net licensing revenue is devoted to U.S. Army Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs.
