At 13,140 feet, Boundary Peak is the highest summit in Nevada and is located in Esmeralda County. Its location at about half a mile from the California border, contributes to its name. Montgomery Peak (13,441 ft / 4,097 m) is located just across the border in California, and Boundary Peak is considered by some as a sub-summit of Montgomery. Boundary Peak is 82 feet (25 m) higher than the second highest Nevada peak, Wheeler Peak (13,065 ft / 3,982 m). An area surrounding the peak is protected as the Boundary Peak Wilderness Area.
This impressive U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Bench Mark replica pays tribute to those who have ventured onto the slopes of Boundary or admired the peak from afar. The obverse replicates the design and detail of the official USGS Benchmark found on Boundary Peak. The reverse contains a space for engraving.
Minted in solid bronze in the style of actual USGS bench marks (not the lesser-quality, simulated bench marks others make from lead and tin), this three-inch medallion comes in its own drawstring velour pouch accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Engraving is easy. Just type in your message below.
