USS Jimmy Carter

The USS Jimmy Carter is the most advanced submarine in the SEAWOLF - class and has built-in flexibility and an array of new warfighting features not found in other submarines in her class. With tools that allow her to prevail in any scenario and against any threat – from beneath Artic ice to shallow water, the Jimmy Carter is differentiated from all previous undersea vessels by its Multi-Mission Platform (MMP), which includes a 100-foot hull extension to enhance payload capability. The MMP enables Jimmy Carter to accommodate the advanced technology required to develop and test a new generation of weapons, sensors and undersea vehicles for naval special warfare, tactical surveillance and mine-warfare operations.

This coin honors the Jimmy Carter and all who have served aboard her. Minted in a brass alloy, the coin is embued in the colors of the emblem of the Jimmy Carter. The reverse has a small plate available for engraving a name or other message.
