Found in southern Utah, along the U.S.-Mexico border, Bryce Canyon National Park is famous for its unique geology consisting of a series of amphitheaters carved from the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The colorful rocks along the walls afford viewers an amazing natural spectacle. 

The medallion’s obverse shows one of the parks famous rock spires or “hoodoos.” The reverse shows the park’s namesake, Ebenezer Bryce surveying the land.  Minted in deep relief using a special "splash minting" process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished.
