Sector New York USCG Coaster

Operating as a vital unit within the First Coast Guard District, Sector New York provides direct support for all Coast Guard operations, including search and rescue, fisheries and other law enforcement, and aids to navigation maintenance.

Area of responsibility includes all of the harbors, bays, and rivers within the Port of New York and New Jersey; the New Jersey shoreline north of Long Branch; the southern Long Island shoreline from Rockaway Point to East Rockaway Inlet; the northern Long Island shoreline east to and including the waters of Hempstead Harbor; the waters of Western Long Island Sound; and the Hudson River south of the Federal Lock at Troy, New York. However the command is also responsible for traditional Coast Guard duties north of that point to the Canadian Border, including most of the waters of Lake Champlain.

This coin salutes Sector New York and all those who serve this great installation. The obverse features a rendering of the Sector New York  emblem.
