2008 Silver Quarter Proof Set
2008 Silver State Quarter Proof Set
Make US Mint state commemorative quarter dollars part of your collection and treasure a piece of America. These special silver state quarter commemoratives are struck with a special coin press with meticulously polished dies. After the coin is struck it is polished to give a mirror-like finish. Each state is commemorated with a quarter design depicting a piece of that state’s history, culture, natural beauty or manmade wonder.
This was the fifth and final year that the US Mint’s silver state quarters were packaged as a standalone set.
It’s a great gift or entry for a beginning coin collector or as a way to finish a collection. American history buffs will also find countless coins to cherish as stunning examples of the images and symbols that define each state in this great country. This set includes:
Five new quarter designs: Oklahoma's "Scissortail Flycatcher,” New Mexico's "Land of Enchantment,” Arizona's "Grand Canyon State,” Alaska's "The Great Land,” and Hawaii's "King Kamehameha I." All coins are minted in 90% silver. All coins struck at the San Francisco Mint and come in their original Mint packaging.
