2010 HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK QUARTER, PHILADELPHIA
The Hot Springs National Park quarter is the first of 2010 and the first overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program. All design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Hot Springs National Park. The quarters were struck at the United States Mint at Philadelphia, and each bears the “P” mint mark.
On the front of this beautiful coin is the 1932 portrait of George Washington, by John Flanagan, which has been restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. The reverse features the famous façade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a fountain in the foreground. The headquarters was built in the Spanish colonial revival style, completed in 1936. The National Park Service emblem is to the right of the door.
Obverse inscriptions are United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust and Quarter Dollar. The reverse of this stunning quarter bears the inscriptions of Hot Springs, Arkansas, 2010 and E Pluribus Unum.
