2010 YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK QUARTER—DENVER
The Yellowstone National Park quarter is the second of 2010 and the second overall in the “America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program. All design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Yellowstone National Park. The quarters were struck by the United States Mint at Denver, and each bears the “D” mint mark.
On the front of this beautiful coin is the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, which has been restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. The reverse features the most recognizable site in Wyoming: Old Faithful geyser, with a mature bull bison in the foreground.
Obverse inscriptions are United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust and Quarter Dollar. The reverse of this stunning quarter bears the inscriptions of Yellowstone, Wyoming, 2010, and E Pluribus Unum.
