2010 YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK QUARTER, PHILADELPHIA
The Yosemite National Park uncirculated quarter is the third of 2010 and the third overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program. All design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Yosemite National Park. The quarters were struck by the United States Mint in Philadelphia, and each bears the “P” mint mark.
On the obverse of this beautiful coin is the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, which has been restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. The reverse image depicts the iconic El Capitan, which rises more than 3,000 feet above the valley floor and is the largest monolith of granite in the world.
Obverse inscriptions are United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust, and Quarter Dollar. The reverse of this stunning quarter bears the inscriptions of Yosemite, California, 2010, and E Pluribus Unum.
