This medallion is a special tribute to those climbers who have persevered to master the mountain's difficult terrain. The obverse replicates the design and detail of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) bench mark that is located on Mount Rainier's summit. The reverse contains a space for engraving.

Minted in solid bronze in the style of actual USGS bench marks (not the lesser-quality, simulated bench marks others make from lead and tin), this three-inch medallion comes in its own drawstring velour pouch accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
