Mt. Hood Bench Mark

Dominating the surrounding landscape, Mount Hood's pointy pinnacle measures at 11,239 feet, making it the highest peak in the state of Oregon.

Renowned for its massive permanent snowfields, sustained by annual snowfalls of more than 500 inches in some areas, Mount Hood is a major attraction both for skilled climbers and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. The least challenging and most often climbed routes are located on the slopes directly above the world-famous Timberline Lodge Ski Area. Challenging ascents can be found on more remote parts of the mountain, however. Despite its picturesque profile and its perennial popularity, Mount Hood harbors serious pitfalls that require care to avoid.

This impressive U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) bench mark replica pays tribute to those adventurers who have sought to master Mount Hood's snow packed slopes. The obverse contains the design and detail of the USGS bench mark found at the top of Mount Hood. The reverse contains a space for engraving.

Minted in solid bronze in the style of actual USGS bench marks (not the lesser-quality, simulated bench marks others make from lead and tin), this three-inch medallion comes in its own drawstring velour pouch accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Engraving is easy. Just type in your message below.
