AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL UNCIRCULATED
2010 MT. HOOD NATIONAL FOREST QUARTER, PHILADELPHIA
The Mt. Hood National Forest quarter is the last of the coins struck in 2010 as part of the newly issued America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program. All design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Mt. Hood National Forest. The quarters were struck at the United States Mint at Philadelphia, and each bears the “P” mint mark.
On the front of this beautiful coin is the 1932 portrait of George Washington, by John Flanagan, which has been restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. The reverse features a majestic image of Mt. Hood in the background, while the Lost Lake of Mt. Hood National Forest occupies the foreground. Covering over 1 million acres, Mount Hood National Forest is one of the most well known landmarks in the Pacific Northwest.
Obverse inscriptions are United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust and Quarter Dollar. The reverse of this stunning quarter bears the inscriptions of Mt. Hood, Oregon, 2010 and E Pluribus Unum.
