Comstock 1 OZ Doré Bar
Comstock 1 OZ Doré Bar*
Here is an opportunity for you to own a piece of the historic Comstock Lode!
Comstock Mining is proud to celebrate the achievement of responsible mining in the Comstock with these one-ounce bars of silver-gold doré. The Company has selected Northwest Territorial Mint in Lyon County, Nevada, to strike these commemorative pieces from the first precious metal produced by our mining operations in September of 2012 from the Comstock Mining District in Storey County, Nevada.
Comstock Mining is proud to be part of a mining heritage that began in the 1850s when silver and gold were discovered in what became known as Gold Canyon.
The Comstock District became world famous for the bonanza deposits that fueled the economic growth of San Francisco, helped usher Nevada into statehood, and spawned innovations in mining safety, technology, and policy that are still in use today.
Each sequentially numbered bar commemorates the date of the actual first pour of doré and the assay of gold and silver that it contains.
Minted in nearby Dayton, Nevada, site of the state’s first gold discovery, every bar is encapsulated in protective plastic and proudly displayed in a black leatherette case. These are rare collector’s items reminding us of proud generations past and created to be treasured for generations to come.
A limited quantity of these pieces will ever be struck, since they are minted from the very first pour of precious metals produced by Comstock Mining. A printed Certificate of Authenticity accompanies each one.
* Pour date and assay data will be determined when the actual first pour occurs, and the bar design will be updated to include that information when they are minted.
