This coin unifies the 100,000 personnel from all services who annually pass through its gates to ensure the readiness of America’s active and reserve component military forces.
Established in 1909 in Wisconsin, Fort McCoy has been in continuous service since, training forces for deployment during conflicts from World War II and Korea through the present.
Fort McCoy's off-post support area is among the largest in the United States. Tasked with training, readiness, and mobilization, Fort McCoy’s higher headquarters is the United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) in Atlanta, GA, plus manages four sub installations: Fort Pickett, VA; Fort Devens, MA; and Parks Reserve Forces Training Area and Fort Hunter Liggett in California.
