US Mint Packaging1992 Benjamin Franklin Firefighters Silver Uncirculated Medal

To commemorate Benjamin Franklin’s contributions to firefighting, Congress authorized the 1992 Benjamin Franklin Firefighters Silver Medal as a way to honor not only his service, but also the brave men and women who keep us safe every day.

The silver medal, minted in 90% silver and containing one Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 40.6mm and a thickness of 3.10mm. The coin’s obverse was designed by Thomas D. Rogers and features a stunning portrait of Benjamin Franklin set behind an original Union Fire Company hat. The reverse, by T. James Ferrell, depicts a modern day firefighter climbing down a ladder, a rescued child protected in his arms.

Minted in 1992 by the US Mint, this medal is in uncirculated condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. The 1992 Benjamin Franklin Firefighters Silver Medal is not only a great addition to a US Mint collection, but also an exquisite reminder of the heroic firefighters who lay their lives on the line each day.
