1986 Uncirculated Statue of Liberty Commemorative Coin

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty, the Statue of Liberty Uncirculated Silver Dollar pays tribute to the proud symbol of freedom standing tall over New York Harbor.

The silver dollar, minted in 90% silver and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams. The obverse, designed by John Mercanti, features the Statue of Liberty with the main Ellis Island building in the background. The reverse of the coin was also designed by John Mercanti and depicts the Statue’s hand and torch, lighting the way, with the concluding words to Emma Lazarus’s poem The New Colossus “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” inscribed below.

Minted in 1986 by the US Mint, this coin is in uncirculated condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. The 1986 Statue of Liberty Uncirculated Silver Dollar would make a wonderful addition to any US Mint commemorative collection.
