2000 Leif Ericson Millennium Commemorative Icelandic Proof Silver Kronur

Commemorating the discovery of the New World by Leif Ericson, the US Mint produced this rare and beautiful coin on behalf of the Republic of Iceland. The 2000 Leif Ericson Millennium Commemorative Icelandic Proof Silver Kronur represents one of only a handful of times the US Mint has minted coins for a foreign entity.

The Silver Kronur, minted in 90% silver and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams. The coin was fully designed by Icelander Throstur Magnusson. The obverse depicts an interpretation of the statue of Leif Ericson, which was given to the Icelandic government in 1930 by the United States to commemorate the millennium of the Iceland parliament. The reverse of the coin features a stylized drawing of the Icelandic Coat of Arms, representing the country\'s four guardians: the eagle, the dragon, the bull and a giant.

Minted in 2000 by the US Mint, this coin includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. This proof coin meets the finest standards in the industry for both beauty and craftsmanship. It was carefully designed to represent the best possible version of the original model. Add this rare and stunning coin to your commemorative collection today.
