2006 San Francisco Old Mint Uncirculated Silver Dollar

Created to commemorate the San Francisco mint’s role in helping to rebuild the city after the disastrous fire of 1906, the San Francisco Old Mint Uncirculated Silver Dollar pays tribute to the building known as the “Granite Lady.” The solid construction of the US Mint made the building the only financial institution able to operate immediately following the quake, allowing funds to be dispersed right away for rebuilding.

The silver dollar, minted in 90% silver and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams. The obverse, designed by Sheryl J. Winter, features the Old San Francisco Mint from the left corner of the building. The reverse is a copy of the reverse on the Morgan Dollar, issued by the San Francisco Mint from 1878 to 1921, originally designed by George T. Morgan.

Minted in 2006 by the US Mint, this coin is in uncirculated condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. The 2006 San Francisco Old Mint Uncirculated Silver Dollar, as solid as the building is commemorates, would make an exceptional addition to any collection, own it today.
