Commemorating the United States entry into World War II, the US Mint authorized the 1993 World War II 50th Anniversary Uncirculated Silver Dollar as a way to pay respect to the Greatest Generation that fought and died for our freedoms. Although this coin was issued in 1993, it bears the dual dates of 1991 and 1995 to honor the 50th anniversary of the war.
The silver dollar, minted in 90% silver and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams. The coin’s obverse was designed by Thomas D. Rogers and depicts an allied soldier storming the beach at Normandy on D-Day. The reverse, also by Rogers, features the shoulder sleeve insignia of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force, as known as the “flaming sword” patch, with a quote by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, “I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory.”
Minted in 1993 by the US Mint, this coin is in like new condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. Own the 1993 World War II 50th Anniversary Uncirculated Silver Dollar today and add a valuable reminder of our rich heritage to your collection.
