Honoring the 200th anniversary of Congress’ first assembly, the 1989 Congress Bicentennial Proof Clad Half Dollar was issued to commemorate one of the greatest moments in United States history. The first meeting of Congress in March of 1789 was a momentous occasion, establishing the foundations of our free republic and displaying to the world that a former colony can stand on its own.

Minted in 1989 by the US Mint, this coin is in like new condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. This proof quality coin meets the highest standards in the industry for craftsmanship and was carefully produced to represent the best possible version of the original model.
