To commemorate the culmination of two thousand years of human history, the US Mint issued a unique set of US coins and currency. Each of the sets included a 2000 Sacagawea Dollar, 2000 American Silver Eagle bullion coin, and a $1 Federal Reserve Note, along with a booklet containing brief stories about each piece and various historical details.
Each of the coins and the note in the set has a special feature. A serial number beginning with the digits "2000," to recognize the new millennium, is imprinted on the $1 Federal Reserve Note. The Silver Eagle was specifically identified as produced at the West Point Mint, although the coin itself does not contain a specific mint mark. Finally, the Sacagawea Dollar has a rare burnished finish, similar to the special finish used for the 5,000 coins that had been paid to Glenna Goodacre as her design fee for the coin.
Minted in one Troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver, the content of the Silver Eagle is guaranteed by the U.S. Government. Featuring the compelling "Walking Liberty" design, originally created by Adolph Weinman for the 1916 U.S. Half Dollar, the reverse bears the heraldic eagle and shield of the Great Seal of the United States.
The coins were minted in 2000 by the US Mint. Every item in the set is in like new condition and the set includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. Own this highly sought after US Millennium Coinage and Currency Set today.
