Commemorating the United States entry into World War II, the US Mint authorized the 1993 World War II 50th Anniversary Uncirculated Clad Half Dollar as a way to pay respect to the Greatest Generation that fought and died for our freedoms. Although this coin was issued in 1993, it bears the dual dates of 1991 and 1995 to honor the 50th anniversary of the war.
The clad half dollar was minted in copper-nickel, with a weight of 11.34 grams and a diameter of 30.61 mm. The obverse was designed by George Klauba and features three men, a soldier, sailor, and an airman looking up confidently as a B-17 flies overhead, and a “V” for victory lies in the background. The reverse, by Bill J. Leftwich, depicts a battle scene from the Pacific Islands campaign, with a soldier in prone position waiting for air support to decimate the enemy.
Minted in 1993 by the US Mint, this coin is in like new condition and includes the original US Mint packaging with certificate of authenticity. Own the 1993 World War II 50th Anniversary Uncirculated Clad Half Dollar today and add a valuable reminder of our rich heritage to your collection.
