Show your pride as a Scout with this Half Dome Summiteer Hiking Stick Medallion. This quality medallion adheres directly to your hiking stick, commemorating your courageous ascent to the peak of California’s well-known Half Dome. The perfect symbol of your grit and determination, this medallion is not only great to show off, but it will also serve as a reminder of all you can achieve when try hard and do your best.

In the late 1800’s, Half Dome was described by Josiah Whitney, of the California Geological Survey, as "perfectly inaccessible." However, in October of 1875 the summit was finally conquered by George G. Anderson using a route constructed by drilling and placing iron eyebolts into the smooth granite. Today the summit can be reached in a number of ways, though the most popular is by hiking the Cable Route.

Minted with an antique bronze finish, and imbued with black enamel, this medallion depicts an artist’s rendering of Half Dome, along with its elevation of 8842 feet. The Half Dome Summiteer Hiking Stick Medallion is a durable and unique reminder of this momentous achievement on your Scouting® journey.
