RAF Mildenhall, England -- Five Seals

RAF Mildenhall, England -- Five Seals

Hosting a diverse team of units, Royal Air Force Mildenhall stands apart from other U.S. Air Force bases.  With units from four different major commands -- Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Mobility Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe – in addition to a Navy presence – they have a wide variety of missions occurring simultaneously. This unique relationship requires constant coordination and teamwork between areas, which is why they adopted the moniker "Team Mildenhall."

Minted in solid bronze, and hand-finished with an antique patina, this coin is dedicated to the men and women of RAF Mildenhall, who make it possible for regular Americans to live their lives in peace. The obverse features four command insignias – Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Mobility Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe – with the seal of the US Navy, currently stationed at the base along with the moniker, “Team Mildenhall,” imbued with rich enamel accents. The reverse shows crossed USA and UK flags, highlighted with red, white, and blue enamel accents.
