The United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas is a graduate school for United States Army and sister service officers, interagency representatives, and international military officers. Founded in 1881 by William Tecumseh Sherman, the college serves as a training school for infantry and cavalry officers. The college has expanded its curriculum throughout the years and continues to adapt by including lessons learned from the most recent conflicts. Minted from solid bronze, and finished with an antique patina, this coin pays tribute to the exceptional staff at the CGSC and their critical role in training our military leaders of tomorrow and today.
