Offutt Air Force Base -- Air Force Core Values

Offutt Air Force Base – Air Force Core Values

The men and women stationed at Offutt Air Force Base are living examples of the core values of the U.S. Air Force - "Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do." As the headquarters for United States Strategic Command, the 55th Wing, and Air Force Weather Agency, the base began in 1918 as an Army Air Service balloon field but eventually became home to organizations that protect the men and women in uniform, as well as American citizens, across the globe.

The Air Force core values unite all Air Force warriors in the common pursuit of victory. They underscore the commitment of every proud member of the U.S. Air Force to go beyond the call of duty to get the job done. Exhibiting the highest levels of technical skill and a boundless determination to succeed, Air Force professionals around the globe strengthen America's national defense and provide the U.S. Military with the global reach it needs to meet every potential threat.

Minted in solid nickel, and then imbued with bold enamel highlights on both sides, this coin is dedicated to the men and women of Offutt AFB who fight every day to make the world safe for freedom, living their lives according to the core values of the United States Air Force. The obverse features two fighters and a transport, along with the Hap Arnold star and the U.S. Air Force core values. The reverse displays the insignia of the organizations that call Offutt home over an American flag, with a braided edge.
