The MARFORCOM commander serves as the principal advisor to the commander of U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) on Marine Corps matters. The battle arm of MARFORCOM is II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), 45,000 Marines from the 2nd Marine Logistics Group and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
