Royal Air Force Mildenhall stands apart from other U.S. Air Force bases through the diversity of the units assigned there.  With units from four different major commands -- Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Mobility Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe – in addition to a Navy presence – they have a wide variety of missions occurring simultaneously. This unique relationship requires constant coordination and teamwork between areas, which is why they adopted the moniker "Team Mildenhall."

Minted in solid bronze, and hand-finished with an antique patina, this coin is dedicated to the men and women of RAF Mildenhall, who make it possible for regular Americans to live their lives in peace. The obverse features three aircraft currently stationed at the base along with the moniker, “Team Mildenhall,” imbued with rich black enamel. The reverse, accented with brightly colored enamel, shows the USA and UK flags together under the British Isle and Ireland.
